The history of 'het poffertjeshuis'

We are Carlos and Bea, and we're from the Netherlands. We moved to Norway in September 2005 to discover a new adventure.

After various jobs in Norway, we got the opportunity to rent the old 'Raaben Garden' in the centre of Lillehammer. A perfect location to start a 'small pancake house', or as we say in the Netherlands: a 'poffertjeshuis'.

In May 2014 we opened Det Lille Pannekakehuset (The Little Pancake House) and as far as we know, this is the first poffertjes restaurant in Norway. It was very exciting for us to start this restaurant in Norway and to serve food to the Norwegian people that they were not familiar with. And luckily, the restaurant has been a huge success from the first day we started.

We moved recently to 'Møllestua' in Lillehammer. New pictures will follow soon.
